This venue is a permanent performance space within The Duke of Wellington pub. It is a two-minute walk from Brighton railway station.
The room is rectangular with an access door for audience and loading in. This venue is located on the first floor. Due to the age of the building, the only access is a set of stairs with no disabled access.
Audience seating is on one level. The stage is raised and equipped with a single back stage curtain with narrow standing area only. The room is equipped with our standard adaptable sound and lighting systems.
Full range speakers are wall-mounted on either side of the stage. Standard input options include one microphone and digital player inputs.
Due to power limitations, the lighting system should only be used to output a maximum of 3,000 watts at any time. Power for lighting is from a 13amp supply shared with sound and on-stage power. The permanent lighting rig is 3 birdies, due to the room and stage capacity.
Other sound, lighting and audio visual equiptment can be obtained for you - please contact the production team in advance.
We welcome applications from all genres, and are particularly interested in work that falls into theatre – be that physical theatre & dance, children’s theatre, spoken word, musicals, new-writing or community work.
