Never Ever Let Me Go

19:15 (1hr)

A new metafictional play exploring themes of isolation, human infallibility, and unfulfilled ambition. It’s 1936 in Los Angeles during the Golden era of Hollywood. Bebe Braid is a young wannabe starlet who’ll do anything to get into a motion picture. She’s even prepared to ditch her fiancé and make a deal with some questionable types. Watch Bebe rise to the top! Or so they said…

Magda is a screenwriter. Or at least a graduate of MLitt Screenwriting. She’s recently found an old Bebe Braid vinyl in a record shop and is compelled by her own likeness to forgotten Hollywood icon Bebe Braid. It must be fate surely that Magda brings the life of Bebe Braid to the screen.

This is a work in progress by Dundee-based theatre company Elfie Picket, best known for their award-winning, critically-acclaimed Ane City (2023) and Pushin' 30 (2024) (debuted Dundee Fringe 2021, sell-out as part of A Play, A Pie, A Pint 2024 season).
